The Text That Saved Me!!
During my sister’s birthday barbecue, I got a text that said, “Leave now. Don’t tell anyone.”
At first, I laughed — it sounded like a prank. But the message came from an unknown number, one that looked oddly similar to mine.
Everyone was outside talking, music playing, kids running through the yard. I stepped aside, pretending to check something on my phone. The text came again: “Please.”
I felt uneasy, though nothing seemed wrong. My sister called me to bring more plates, and then a third message appeared: “Five minutes.” No name. No explanation.
Moments later, flashing lights appeared at the end of the street. Two local officers stepped out calmly and asked to speak with me. My family looked confused as I followed them to the car.
Inside, one officer smiled gently. “Someone was trying to reach you before we arrived,” he said. “It seems you received a warning from a source we’re still tracing.”
I still don’t know who sent it. But that message changed everything — not because it scared me, but because it reminded me that sometimes, timing is its own kind of miracle.
