Court Rules US Can Deport Illegals Despite Objections

A 2019 local executive order that sought to counter President Trump’s immigration policies was overturned by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court ruled that King County, Washington, had breached its agreement by preventing deportations at King County International Airport, also known as Boeing Field.

The court found the order unlawful as it targeted federal procedures and was unfair to ICE. In 2019, the local county tried to stop Trump’s operations when he used Boeing Field to deport individuals in the country illegally.

The order forced ICE to use an airport in Yakima, Washington, for deportation flights, significantly increasing the distance from ICE’s Northwest detention facility.

The increased distance between the airport and the ICE detention facilities led to higher operating costs and raised security concerns, according to the ruling.
