Heartbreaking: Jennifer Garner shares the loss of a friend in California wildfires
In a heartfelt interview with MSNBC’s Katy Tur, actress Jennifer Garner spoke about the loss of a friend amid the devastating California wildfires. This tragic event comes shortly after the passing of her beloved father.
The actress, alongside renowned World Central Kitchen’s Chef José Andrés, has stepped up to help those affected by the raging LA fires.
“I did lose a friend who did not get out in time,” the 52-year-old actress said. “It’s just — my heart bleeds for my friends. I mean, I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost.”
Reflecting on her own safety during the devastation, she admitted, “I feel almost guilty walking through my house. Just, you know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?”
The “Pearl Harbor” star added, “I’m looking at the chimney of somebody that I loved. […] It’s awful — kind of unimaginable.”
Jennifer Garner, who has been deeply affected by the loss of a friend in the California wildfires, used her celebrity status to collaborate with Chef Andrés and contribute to those who lost everything in the catastrophe affecting Los Angeles.
Garner emphasized the importance of supporting parents and children during these difficult times by providing them with shelters. She praised Chef Andrés for his swift and effective relief efforts. “It is an incredible thing to watch somebody — to watch World Central Kitchen and Chef José just come in and say, ‘We’ve got this handled. Don’t worry. We’ve got you,’” she explained.
